I realized one morning on my way to work, that I had never been on Katajanokka. So I went. It turned out to be a very busy place (when you wait for the right moment ;-).

As it's only the first week after the holidays and it's still quite quiet at work, it's fine to enjoy a few beers in the middle of the week.

That statue there is The Statue of world peace (sorry, in Finnish only) donated to the city of Helsinki by the city of Moscow.

End of my summer journey. The last weekend before starting work again. Boohoo!

My dad knows how one should spend his time at the summer cottage.

It's latin name is Rutilus rutilus. Tee-hee!

He loved in the country side when he was able to stalk around freely as opposed to running around our cramped apartment.

I got myself a new body, a Contax 139 Quartz. I got it because I'm so lazy using my handheld meter that I mostly just estimate exposure and end up with crappily exposed negatives. The Contax has a meter. More than that, it has aperture priority automatics, with ae lock, and manual mode.

This blog has been neglected for a long time, but I've been away on holiday, so it's OK. And besides, there are better things to do during the bitterly short summer in Finland than huddling in a dark room.

Polaroid really is the shit.

To celebrate my 30th birthday, we got wasted in a local park, peed in the bushes and fed ourselves with carcinogens. Ah... summertime.
